Advanced Drivers Education Products & Training,
Inc. (ADEPT Driver) is a research and instructional
technology company that designs and markets multimedia
products that measurably reduce automobile crashes.
The company was founded in 1995 by Allstate Insurance
Company, Sylvan Learning Systems and Dr. Richard
Harkness, who serves as the company’s president
and CEO. In 2002, Dr. Harkness acquired controlling
interest of ADEPT Driver and the company now operates
independently.
As indicated by the graph at right, the high
incidence of automobile crashes, particularly
among teen and senior drivers, points to the need
to re-engineer conventional driver training programs.
ADEPT has long viewed this destruction of lives
and property as a national tragedy, and has dedicated
itself to establishing an entirely new approach
to driver’s education.
ADEPT has identified the critical driving and
social factors that empirically relate to teen
driver crashes. The Company's goal is to design
and develop a platform of superior driver safety
products, drawing on the resources of the Company’s
strategic partners, and a scholarly Advisory Council
of world-recognized experts in traffic safety,
behavioral science and instructional technology.
Today, ADEPT stands at the forefront of driver
training by providing the most technologically
and scientifically advanced driver training products
available. |
