Is the teenSMART discount available to my teen?
Allstate currently offers discounts for completing the teenSMART program in the following states:
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. More states will be added in the future.
Once your teen completes the program, he or she can qualify for a teenSMART Discount or Smart Driver Discount (varies by state) on your teen’s auto insurance. Savings will vary by state and apply to certain coverages only. We recommend you check with your Allstate agent about specific terms of the discount in your state to confirm your teen’s eligibility.
How much will I save on my teen's auto insurance?
As the discount for completing the teenSMART program varies by state, we recommend you check with your Allstate agent about specific terms of the discount and how much you will be able to save. Your agent can help you calculate your premium savings using your actual policy information.
Can my teen qualify for both the teenSMART and good student discounts?
In some states teens can qualify for both the Good Student Discount and the teenSMART discount. Check with your Allstate agent for the qualifications and discount available in your state.
How is my Allstate teenSMART discount applied?
Once a teen uploads their completed certification test results to ADEPT Driver, a certificate of completion will be sent in the mail. Any applicable teenSMART discount is applied to the policy as of the date the certificate of completion is presented to your Allstate agent. The discount is applied immediately with no waiting until the next policy renewal.
How does the teenSMART certification process work?
The final step of the teenSMART program includes a Certification Test. Teens may take the test as many times as they need to in order to pass. Once teens send their test results to ADEPT Driver a Certificate of Completion is generated and sent to the teen.
Can teens who have already had an accident qualify for a teenSMART Discount?
Initial eligibility requirements vary by state. Check with your Allstate agent to find out whether your teen would be eligible for any discount upon completion of the program.
Do customers need to buy a separate copy of teenSMART for each teen?
A purchase is required for each teen who would like to complete the teenSMART program. However, there are program components that can be shared by several teens. If there are multiple teens in the same household (at the same address), one complete program and certification can be purchased for the first teen, and additional certification units can be purchased for the additional teen(s). Please note that additional certification units include only a certification license and an additional Student Workbook; they are not complete programs and do not include the teenSMART software.
