What does
the certification test consist of?
The certification test consists of two parts:
a multiple-choice section and a driving simulation
section. It is an open-book test. If you have
successfully completed all of the computer-based
training exercises (CBTs) and the Parent-Teen
Activities, you should not have any problems with
the test.

Can I go straight
to the certification test?
No. You must complete all of the CBT sessions
before the teenSMART program will let you take
the certification test. Then you must enter the
correct Parent-Teen Activity Video Codes to proceed
to the test.

How many
times can I take the certification test?
You may take the certification test as many times
as needed in order to complete the program. Once
you successfully pass a given part of the test
(multiple-choice or driving simulation) you will
not have to take that part of the test again.
If you don’t pass, the program will let
you know which areas you should study.

How will
I know that I’ve passed the certification
test?
The teenSMART program will let you know that you
have passed the test with a congratulatory message
that appears on the computer. In addition, the
“Send Results” button in the lower
right-hand corner of the main teenSMART screen
will become active for you to select.

Will the
program print out a certificate for me?
No. The teenSMART program does not print out a
certificate of completion (or anything else).
To get your certificate, you must save your results
and send them to ADEPT Driver for processing.

How do I
send my certification test results to ADEPT Driver?
Once you have passed the certification test, the
“Send Results” button in the lower
right-hand corner of the main teenSMART screen
will become active for you to select. Clicking
on this button will send your test results to ADEPT via the internet. If you do not have an internet connection, please refer to your Program Instructions booket for information on other ways to send your test results.

My version of
teenSMART only lets me save to the “A”
drive and my computer doesn’t have an “A”
drive.
Older versions of teenSMART required you to save
your certification results to a floppy disk, but
the test results file is also stored on your computer.
If you don’t have an “A” drive,
please call ADEPT Driver product support and we
can walk you through emailing your certification
results.

I can’t
open my test results file.
Your test results file is password protected and
encrypted. You will not be able to open your
test results file.

My test results
file saved inside of a .zip file. Is this correct?
Yes, teenSMART zips your test results file to
make it as small as possible for upload purposes.
ADEPT Driver needs to receive your results file
in this zipped format in order to process your
certification test results. The name of your zip
file will be what you entered as your unique Student
ID in the teenSMART Student Information screen.
There is no need to open this zip file.

When will
I get my certificate of completion from ADEPT
Driver?
The certificate of completion will be sent to
the address entered in the Student Information
Screen. Your certificate should arrive via First
Class Mail within 1-2 weeks from the date ADEPT
receives valid test results.
