I have?
If you ordered the complete teenSMART Program
& Certification, you should have the following
program materials:
- 1 packing slip containing your unique Student ID and Validation Code. These are required to complete the computer-based portion of the program. Units purchased from a vendor other than ADEPT will have the Student ID on a sticker on the outside of the box, and possibly on a form inside the box or on a sticker on the CD set.
- 1 teenSMART Program Instructions booklet
- 1 Student Workbook
- 1 Parent Guide
- 1 Driving Practice Manual (to be used for additional practice after certification)
- 1 Parent-Teen Activity Video Segments (DVD or
VHS)
- 1 set of 6 CD-ROMs for the Computer-Based Training
sessions (CBTs)
If you ordered a teenSMART Additional Certification
because you had already purchased a complete program,
you should have received the following program
materials:
- 1 packing slip containing your unique Student ID and Validation Code.
- 1 Student Workbook

What
are the system requirements?
To complete teenSMART you need a PC with:

Microsoft® Windows® 7, Vista, XP, 2000, ME, 98SE or 98
- 200 MHz
or higher processor

Minimum 32 MB RAM
- 30 MB of available hard disk space
- 2 MB graphics card or higher
- CD-ROM
drive
- Audio card, speakers and mouse
- Internet connection (highly recommended, but not required)
You will also need a DVD or VHS player for the Parent-Teen Activity video

Will teenSMART
run on a Macintosh?
teenSMART v3.0 was designed to run
on a Macintosh. teenSMART Original was not. To get more information about the different teenSMART versions click here.

What should
I do first?
1. Open your teenSMART kit. Make sure you have all the program materials, including your Student ID and Validation Code.
2. Install teenSMART on your computer.
3. Register the teen(s) that will be using the program. Your Student ID(s) and Validation Codes (s) are on the Packing Slip you received.
4. Gather your Student Workbook, your Parent Guide and your Parent-Teen Activity Video (DVD or VHS).
5. Teens: Read pages 3-9 in the Student Workbook.
6. Parents: Read pages 3-11 in the Parent Guide.
7. Complete Step 1: Looking at the Big Picture (Student Workbook page 10, Parent Guide page 12). You will watch the video, record your first Video Code, do workbook exercises and complete a master schedule (Student Workbook page 17-18).
8. Follow the master schedule to complete the rest of the program.
