Director of Sales and Marketing - Auto Insurance Industry

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Sales and Marketing on a full-time contractual basis, with a deep understanding of the auto insurance industry to lead our efforts in targeting the top 30 auto insurance companies. This position offers a base salary and commissions, providing an exciting opportunity for entrepreneurial professionals to drive revenue growth and establish ADEPT Driver as a key player in the auto insurance sector. The ideal candidate will be able to prospect, acquire and close sales of over a million dollars a year. Will have a well-established network and working relationships with Chief or VP level auto insurance marketing and underwriting executives. Will have a seasoned understanding of the auto insurance industry and economic trends. Will have an established record of accurately forecasting and establishing strategies for success.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy focused on penetrating the top 30 auto insurance companies, expanding market share, and achieving revenue targets.
- Prospect, acquire and close sales of over $1 million a year with large insurance companies.
- Monitor industry trends and market competitors to support sales goals.
- Develop and implement strategic marketing campaigns.
- Build and manage a high-performing sales and marketing pipeline, identifying and nurturing leads through the sales cycle.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers within target auto insurance companies, understanding their pain points, needs, and opportunities for collaboration.
- Leverage technical expertise to effectively communicate the value proposition of ADEPT Driver's advanced driver training and risk assessment solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development and research to align offerings with industry needs and customer expectations.
- Utilize data-driven insights to measure, analyze, and optimize sales and marketing campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed for maximum impact.
- Represent ADEPT Driver at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, establishing the company's presence and enhancing brand visibility.
- Drive the creation of compelling sales collateral,
presentations, and proposals that effectively communicate the value proposition of ADEPT Driver's solutions. - Stay current with industry developments, regulations, and compliance requirements related to auto insurance and driver safety.
- Provide forecasts to President and CEO for sales.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Working relationships with Chief or VP level marketing or underwriting executives in the top 30 largest auto insurance companies
- Proven track record of at least 7-10 years in sales and marketing roles within the auto insurance industry, with a focus on strategic account management and business development.
- Demonstrated success in targeting and securing partnerships with top-tier auto insurance companies.
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of advanced driver training technologies, telematics, risk assessment tools, and related software solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of auto insurance industry trends, challenges, and regulations.
- Relevant certifications such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), or similar.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with C-suite executives.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and drive results in a contract-based setting.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- In-depth understanding of the auto insurance industry,
including knowledge of insurance products, customer segmentation, market trends, and competitive landscape. - Proficiency in various sales techniques, including consultative selling, value-based selling, and relationship building, to effectively communicate the value proposition to potential clients.
- Ability to interpret sales and marketing data, analyze trends, and extract actionable insights using tools like CRM systems, Google Analytics, and marketing automation platforms.
- Proficiency in using CRM software to manage and track leads, customer interactions, and sales activities throughout the customer journey.
- Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with telematics technology, software solutions, and risk assessment tools used in the auto insurance industry.
- A willingness to travel as needed to attend industry events and meet with clients.
Compensation:
This is a contractual position with a competitive base salary and commission-based compensation structure. The commission will be based on successful sales and revenue generation.
