Dr. Richard Harkness
Founder & CEO
Richard Harkness, Ed.D., is a founder and Chief Executive Officer of Life Long Driver, LLC dba ADEPT Driver®—providing leadership and vision for the company’s strategic direction, neurocognitive research and development. He earned his doctorate at the University of Pacific in Psychometrics (Human Factors testing) and has a doctoral minor in statistics and research. He has served as a professor of Psychology and Management technology at the University of San Francisco where he taught courses in Psychology, Statistics, Psychometrics, Marketing Research, and Operations research. Dr. Harkness was elected in 1991 to the American Psychological Association and has lifetime status.
His focus for 25 years has been to develop effective driver behavior modification products that reduce car crash frequency and severity and help insurance companies to improve their profitability, customer retention, telematics performance and crash risk prediction.
Dr. Sam Chiu
President
Sam Chiu, PsyD., MBA, B.S., serves as the President of ADEPT Driver, where he plays a crucial role in managing, developing, and maintaining the company's innovative and existing product offerings. His leadership has been instrumental in enhancing the company's infrastructure and scalability, ensuring that ADEPT Driver can effectively serve its expanding customer base. Dr. Chiu's strategic insights have significantly contributed to the successful expansion of the business and the formulation of new product development strategies.
Dr. Chiu brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at prominent companies such as Agilent Technologies, Verifone, Williams Sonoma, Pride Industries, and Vision Service Plan. His extensive background in software engineering, quality assurance, and operational management equips him with the skills to navigate complex business environments and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Dr. Chiu holds a Bachelor of Science in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine, a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside, and a Doctorate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from California Southern University. His diverse educational background and professional experience make him a valuable asset to ADEPT Driver and a leader in the technology and business sectors.
Bonnie Berry
SVP of Operations
Bonnie Berry is ADEPT’s Senior Vice President of Operations, a position she has held since joining the company in 1999. She is responsible for general operations of the company, including finance and accounting, order processing and fulfillment and product support. Ms. Berry earned her A.B. degree in Sociology from Stanford University and her MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
Mike Warren
VP of Systems & Security
Mike Warren is ADEPT’s Vice President of Systems and Security, responsible for managing the company’s system development, networks and security. Mr. Warren has more than 35 years of experience designing, building and supporting systems, networks and security for business and government agencies. Mr. Warren received his B.S. degree in Information Technology - Security Emphasis from Western Governors University and has received a multitude of industry certifications in networking, systems and security.
